Discipline

Discipline

Balcombe Grammar School takes a pro-active approach to discipline, teaching social skills, valuing and modelling positive relationships, providing appropriate boundaries for students and an opportunity for restorative justice.

Through our program, students learn to satisfy their needs in a way that respects the rights of others and realise that as individuals they are responsible for their actions. An important part of the developmental process involves learning how to act in a responsible manner within the expectations of our society. The School maintains an environment where the rights of others are preserved, so that staff can teach and students may learn. This assists the students to become responsible members of our society through practicing self-discipline. Our school Code of Conduct encourages the development of self-esteem, cooperation, self-management, tolerance and honesty. We believe everyone has the right to feel and be safe. Respect for all should be given and received. All students have the right to work and play without unwanted interference and the school enforces its anti-bullying policy.
