The annual Alliance Francaise Berthe Mouchette Competition provides all students learning French to participate in a poetry reciting competition.  Presenting a poem is a somewhat daunting experience in one’s own language and each year I am particularly proud of the manner in which our students take on the challenge to public speak in the French language to a native speaking audience.  This year there were two students who excelled in their poetry recitation receiving the highest possible marks of 20/20 for their performance and continuing on to the finals at Alliance Francaise in St Kilda.  When you consider this is a prestigious statewide competition with thousands of competitors their achievement is even more to their credit. Congratulations Lily Kurelja and Charlotte Lawyer and good luck in the finals.
