As we drove up the long, swirly mountain all eyes were on the shimmering snow. We were twisting and turning, but all we could hear were screeches of excitement throughout the bus. The snow was falling softly onto the vehicle while some of the snow was trickling down from the trees. We had arrived! Within moments, snow balls were being thrown around everywhere hitting you left, right and centre. We all knew at that point that this would be a camp that we would never forget. This is definitely one of the highlights so far from Grade Six! We would like to thank all the teachers and Bindaree staff for putting this amazing camp together!

Last Tuesday night at 7pm saw the school hall transformed for the Year 10 Social. The music was well selected with the dance floor busy for the entire night, even enticing a number of staff to join in. The relaxed, if loud, atmosphere gave the cohort a chance to gather, mingle and bond. The inclusive nature of this year group was particularly impressive as students rotated between the photo booth, dance floor and food and drinks stand. The positive energy generated was a welcome break from winter and was appreciated by students and staff alike.

Special thanks to Ms Rachel Gray, the student planning committee and the parent volunteers (Marie Williams, Kim Jackson, Mandy Tiffany, Andrea Mansfield) who made the night feasible. Also the PFC for the generous donation to help keep this a low cost event.

On Friday, the PFC held their annual Father’s Day Breakfast. It was our biggest ever attendance with 360 parents, grandparents, friends and students filling the hall! Although the weather was not in our favour, it didn’t dampen the wonderful family time spent eating breakfast together. Students had fun drawing some special pictures and played noughts and crosses on the paper table covers. It was fantastic to see so many families enjoying a lovely morning. We would like to thank Chad Gallaher for cooking the bacon for us again this year, the year 7s for painting the pen pots which looked great and the parent helpers on the day. Thank you also to all the teachers and students who assisted us in setting up and packing up.

A huge thank you goes to our small group of PFC members for organising such a successful event.
