FROM THE ACTING PRINCIPAL

The 2018 school year ended very positively with secondary students actively engaged through the Transition Program in meeting their class-mates and teachers for 2019.

Activity Days for students also helped to create a sense of celebration for the achievements of the year and excitement about the year to come.

Year 6 students were presented with their Graduation Certificates in a special assembly.

The student leaders for 2019, led by Head of Year 12 Ms Mara, participated in a Leadership Day that helped create a sense of team-work and some shared goals for the year ahead.

Year 12 students received their VCE results, which are outlined below.

As always, the traditional Christmas Service was a lovely finale to the Term.

CLASS OF 2018 VCE RESULTS

Congratulations to the Class of 2018 on their outstanding achievement in their VCE studies.

Students received their VCE results and Study Scores this week and we are pleased to announce that our Median ATAR was 67.35, which is above the State median ATAR of 65.

In total, 47% of our cohort received an ATAR of 70 and above.

We have also consolidated our median study score of 31, which is also above the state average of 30. It was also pleasing to see our results improve in relation to other schools on the Mornington Peninsula, as published in the media this week.

HIGH ACHIEVERS

We are proud to announce our dux for 2018 is Isabella Di Stefano who attained at ATAR of 94.6, closely followed by Amy Skene with an ATAR of 94.55.

In addition to these, and other, excellent performances in the VCE, we take this opportunity to congratulate all students who worked with determination and commitment this year, including those who took up vocational and workplace pathways. Well done to these students and to all students who achieved personal bests this year.

We celebrate the character of all of our students and the contribution they will make to the community as they graduate. We wish them all the best for the future and look forward to hearing of their adventures beyond Balcombe Grammar School.

TERTIARY OFFERS

In line with our commitment to inclusivity, the success of the Class of 2018 was shared throughout the entire cohort who enjoyed a 100% successful completion of their VCE.

We will be able to share more stories of tertiary pathways and successes when school returns in January.
