2021 VCE Results

16.12.2021

In the most challenging of circumstances, the Class of 2021 had a very special year and made a significant impact on the school and in particular the Senior Centre. The Class of 2021 impressed us all greatly by displaying tremendous resilience, determination, support and connectedness throughout the entire year whether on or off site. In addition to navigating the challenges of the Global Pandemic, they supported one another through the challenges of Year 12 and together developed strong and consistent work ethics and we are pleased to announce that their hard work has resulted in a very strong set of results.

Just over 42% of students attained an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) over 80 placing them in the top 20% of the State and the Class of 2021 achieved a median (ATAR) of 77.6, which places the top half of our students in the top 22.4% of the State.

Individually, there were some outstanding achievements.

Our School Captain, Charlotte Lawyer is our DUX for 2021 attaining an ATAR of 98.1, closely followed by our Proxime Accessit, Perri Teoh who attained an ATAR of 97.3.

Other outstanding VCE achievements include a number of study scores of 45 and above:

  • Elliott Craig perfect study score of 50 in Media

  • Lily Bourke in English
  • Nina Dash in English
  • Olivia Gayfer in English
  • Isabelle Raymond in Psychology

Whilst recognising the wonderful achievements above, it is very important to recognise that our Class of 2021 cohort have been outstanding role models for the future Year 12 Balcombe Grammar students. The Class of 2021 highlighted the importance of being kind and respectful to one another along with obtaining well balanced lifestyles – they are certainly ready for life beyond our school gates.

We would like to acknowledge the wonderful work that all teachers at Balcombe Grammar have played in our Class of 2021’s journey, many of which began in Primary School. We at Balcombe take great pride in developing strong and positive relationships with our students in the classroom which naturally assists to create an environment that is conducive to effective learning. We thank our teachers for supporting our Year 12 cohort over the years and for their willingness to adapt as educators to support our students as best as possible.
