Give a Gift for Vic Kids

25.10.2024

The Rotary Interact program was introduced in 2024 as a means of developing leadership skills and furthering social justice values in our Year 5-12 students.

Together with Rotary we are currently supporting the initiative of Year 11 student, Molly Bendell, in her efforts to collect gifts for Backpack for Vic Kids, who support children in crisis care all around Victoria. Often these kids are taken away from their homes with nothing but the clothes on their back.

The ‘Give a Gift’ fundraiser is dedicated to giving a gift to underprivileged children this Christmas. The goal is to put 7,020 smiles on children all round Victoria and we are calling for help from the Balcombe Grammar community to fulfil this goal by donating new gifts.

Gifts are often donated for younger children, for this reason we have decided to collect gifts for children aged 12-17 years.

Possible ideas include:

  • Advanced LEGO sets or model kits
  • Novels & young adult books
  • Sports gear & equipment
  • Card & board games
  • Electronic gadgets (headphones, portable speakers, etc)
  • Creative kits
  • Journals & stationery sets
  • Gift cards

Please bring all gifts to BGS Reception by Friday 8 November
