Inspiring our young entrepreneurs

The B.I.T.E. (Business, Innovation, Technology, Efficiency) Conference is the Mornington Peninsula’s premier business event, with this year’s program featuring keynote speakers, discussion panels, and a business expo focused on AI, automation, and business growth. It was a valuable opportunity for two of our Year 10 students to hear directly from high-profile business leaders, including Olympic gold medallist and CEO Grant Hackett, who shared how the mental discipline and resilience behind his swimming career translated into building high-performing business teams. It was a great chance for our students to see real-world applications of the concepts covered in Year 10 Entrepreneurship.

My experience of the B.I.T.E business conference was one filled with innovation, impactful speeches and entrepreneurial ideas that changed my ways of thinking, not just at a business aspect, but also at an everyday scale. There were countless stalls of local small businesses from around the peninsula, many keynote speakers including Kate Christie (Time Management Expert) and Grant Hackett (Olympic Gold Medallist), and plenty of valuable information for local entrepreneurs and business owners. If I had one highlight from this experience, it would definitely be seeing Rocko the humanoid robot, who in the future will be core to assisting businesses in their everyday tasks through AI. I would highly recommend this conference to students who are willing to explore new ideas and ways of thinking, as it can be very beneficial for the future and can open up new pathways in life.

My experience at the BITE, (Business, Innovation, Technology and Excellence), was one filled with new experiences and valuable insights into how to run a business, manage my time, and drive success. The guest speakers were a highlight and gave me a lot of valuable information that I believe will positively affect me. Some of the guest speakers include Andrew Griffiths, Kate Christie, Shannon Smit, and my personal favourite Grant Hackett. In between speakers we were able to walk through an area filled with small businesses advertising a product or service, with free coffee at the ready and a very extensive brunch and lunch later in the day. I would definitely recommend this opportunity for future students.
