Mayoral Letter of Commendation


Balcombe Grammar School Principal, Mr Matthew Dodd has been recognised at a recent Mornington Peninsula Shire Council meeting with a letter of commendation.

The Mayoral letter presented on Tuesday 28 August by Councillor Bryan Payne, honoured Matt’s outstanding leadership, years of service and significant contributions to the school and Mornington Peninsula community.

On behalf of Mornington Peninsula Shire Council and the broader community I would like to commend and thank you for the valuable and lasting contribution you have made to the community through your role as Principal of Balcombe Grammar School.

Under your exceptional leadership and commitment, Balcombe Grammar School has grown from a new school comprising thirty students and two staff members in 2007 to a team of over 840 students and 120 staff. Over its eleven years, Balcombe Grammar School has grown its reputation for academic excellence and caring environment.

Appointed as Founding Head in 2007 to launch and lead the new school, you successfully communicated the Founding Board’s vision for Balcombe Grammar School to the Mornington Peninsula community. Your passion and commitment led to an unprecedented number of over 2000 pre-enrolments received in the school’s second year.

Over the years your leadership has played a significant role in the development and success of Balcombe Grammar School. Your unwavering commitment and clear vision have built a school culture of continuous learning and improvement. Students and staff are encouraged to explore their talents and interests, to achieve their personal best in every endeavour, enhancing their strengths and developing confidence.

As Principal of Balcombe Grammar School, you have led the school with integrity, vision and an unwavering commitment to the Balcombe Grammar School values of Compassion, Inclusion, Confidence, Curiosity and Optimism.
