State Swim Champion


Balcombe Grammar School congratulates Year 6 student, Kai Gilbert who was recently crowned state champion in the 50m Freestyle at the 2019 Victorian Sprint Swimming Championships in a time of 30.35 seconds.

The championships were held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre on January 12 and 13, and brings together some of the most talented swimmers from around Victoria.  In addition to this outstanding achievement, Kai also placed in the top five swimmers in the 50m Breaststroke, Backstroke and Butterfly events. 

Kai is extremely dedicated to his sport and trains 4-5 times a week with the Peninsula Hurricanes Swimming squad.  We are so pleased that his hard work and dedication is reaping the rewards.
