Balcombe Grammar School congratulates Year 10 student Lilla on her achievement of being named in the Hungarian National U17 squad, ahead of the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco in 2026.

Lilla’s selection places her among Hungary’s most talented young footballers, all vying for a place in the final 21 player squad to represent the nation. At the upcoming seven-day training camp in Telki, Hungary, Lilla will play against the Switzerland national team giving her a chance to step onto the international stage and providing a pathway to the World Cup.

This opportunity also marks a significant milestone in her sporting journey, from playing junior football at Mount Martha Soccer Club at the age of 6 to 8, where she was coached by Balcombe staff, Emily Cheshire and Chris Lemmon. Then at just nine years of age Lilla was selected to play in the U12s competition of the Junior Girls National Premier League, where she has continued to succeed and develop her game through dedication, training and consistent performance, resulting in her being selected to join Melbourne City FC Girls NPLW team in 2026.

We wish Lilla every success as she continues following her dream to play on the biggest stage.
