Over the holiday break, Balcombe Grammar students Massimo and Sebastien were selected to represent Victoria at the Australian Royal Pool Lifesaving Championships in the U19 and U14 Development Teams respectively.
The competition focuses on both skill and speed in events that represent the capabilities needed when performing rescues.
Massimo, competing in an age group up, won gold in the U19 CPR event, scoring the highest points for CPR process which includes managing an emergency situation and the execution of CPR on a monitored manikin. He also won silver is the U19 line throw.
Sebastien won silver and bronze in individual and team events. He was also awarded bronze for his overall results in the U14 category.
Mum, Liz said it was a great couple of days and they really enjoyed meeting all the competitors from around Australia.
The Balcombe Grammar School community congratulates Massimo and Sebastien on their significant achievements and their contributions to lifesaving, which teaches valuable skills for life.
