Balcombe Grammar School understands that one of the greatest challenges that today’s senior students face is balancing their different interests and commitments. We firmly believe that students who have a healthy balance between school-work and extra-curricular activities are most likely to achieve success, both at school, and in subsequent tertiary study and employment. We also recognise that for many of today’s young people, achieving this balance can prove elusive.
Our Academic Advancement team work with students in Years 10-12 to foster and develop key study skills and content knowledge that will empower them to become self-directed learners who understand how to manage their time effectively, enabling them to achieve optimal success in their academic studies.
Students sign-up for a range of skills-based and subject-based sessions, devised to foster conscious learning behaviours and targeted to improve performance in different areas of study. Sessions consist of lectures, masterclasses and assessment support. In addition to the scheduled program, students also have access to silent working spaces conducive for private study and homework.
