Balcombe Grammar Girls Sail to Victory

On Friday 20 February, six members of our Balcombe Grammar Sailing Team, headed to the sparkling blue waters of Mount Eliza to take part in GirlSail 2026. This annual event, led by the Daveys Bay Yacht Club and Toorak College, provides students with the chance to compete against sailors from other schools across Victoria.

Under sunny skies, our three teams competed in Division 1, sailing 12 races throughout the day against some tough competition. The final scores saw Abby Young and Lila Donnellan finish second overall. Sarah Young and Florence Gartrell finished in fourth place, and just one point behind, Rose Carlson and Sadie Donnellan in fifth. These strong results were enough for Balcombe Grammar School to be awarded the top prize of School Team Winners for 2026.
